Frequently Asked Questions

GLP-1 medications are a class of prescription drugs that can improve blood sugar control and may lead to weight loss. Results vary depending on the medication, the dose, and the person.

Common side effects include:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.

Following your provider's dosing plan exactly can help reduce side effects. Your provider may also recommend ways to manage nausea.

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is a more serious risk, mainly if you also take another medication that lowers blood sugar, such as sulfonylureas or insulin. GLP-1 medications are not recommended if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, or a history of pancreatitis. In animal studies these drugs caused thyroid tumors; whether this happens in people is not known. They are not for use during pregnancy.

It is important to follow the prescribed doses and directions from your provider accurately in order to minimize risk and/or severity of potential side effects. If you have any questions regarding how to properly take your medication once you receive it, please reach out to us before taking for proper guidance from a licensed healthcare provider. Taking doses other than what is prescribed by your provider may have unintended and potentially dangerous side effects.

Please discuss your previous prescription and dosage with your provider during your medical intake process when enrolling and if medically appropriate, your provider will coordinate your dosage accordingly.

Your provider will give you guidance. Many patients find it helps to eat smaller portions, prioritize protein, stay hydrated, and avoid heavy or greasy foods, especially during dose changes. Your experience may vary.

1010Rx includes complimentary wellness counseling, available to eligible patients, to help you make simple food choices without strict rules.

Email health@1010Rx.com to schedule your wellness appointment.

Always follow your provider's guidance and let them know if side effects come up.

If you miss a dosage on your day of the week, please reach out to us before continuing your dosage. You may need to lessen your dosage for your next dose in order to minimize risk and/or severity of potential side effects.

These medications should be stored in the refrigerator between doses. GLP-1 medications are sensitive to temperature and could degrade if not stored properly.

Follow the schedule your provider gives you. Weekly injections are usually taken on the same day each week, with or without meals.

Both are once-weekly injectable options used in provider-managed weight care, but they work differently — tirzepatide acts on two hormone pathways rather than one. Your provider will decide which, if either, is appropriate based on your health history and goals.

An oral option is coming soon. You can join the waitlist above, and your provider will decide whether it is appropriate for you once it is available.

Progress often slows over time. Talk with your provider about your options. A higher-dose tier is coming soon; any dose change is made only by your provider.
